はじめに
夏(なつ)の東北(とうほく)は、楽(たの)しい祭(まつ)りでいっぱいです！
このシリーズでは、東北の特別な夏祭りを紹介します。
今回は、福島(ふくしま)、山形(やまがた)、岩手(いわて)の祭りです。
Tohoku in summer is full of fun festivals!
In this series, we introduce special summer festivals in the Tohoku region.
This time, let’s look at the festivals of Fukushima, Yamagata, and Iwate.
1. おおわらじまつり（福島県(ふくしまけん)）
どこ？ 福島県福島市（ふくしまけん ふくしまし）
いつ？ 毎年(まいとし)8月(がつ)の第一金曜日(だいいちきんようび)と土曜日(どようび)
おおきなわらじ（わらでできたくつ）がまちのなかをうごきます。
これは、けんこうとあんぜんをいのるおまつりです。
わらじはとてもおおきくて、おとこのひとがかついであるきます。
おんがくにあわせて、わらじおどりもおこなわれます。
In Fukushima, the “Oowaraji Festival” features a giant straw sandal (waraji) that is carried through the streets.
This festival prays for health and safety.
The sandal is very big and strong men carry it on their shoulders.
Traditional dances called “Waraji Odori” are also performed to music.
2. 花笠(はながさ)まつり（山形県(やまがたけん)）
どこ？ 山形県山形市（やまがたけん やまがたし）
いつ？ 毎年(まいとし)8月5日〜7日
赤(あか)い花(はな)のかざりがついた笠(かさ)をかぶって、「ヤッショ、マカショ！」というかけ声(ごえ)でおどります。
たくさんの人(ひと)がいっしょにおどる、楽(たの)しいまつりです。
In Yamagata, people wear bamboo hats decorated with red flowers and dance while shouting “Yassho, Makasho!”
Many people dance together in this fun festival.
3. さんさおどり（岩手県(いわてけん)）
どこ？ 岩手県盛岡市（いわてけん もりおかし）
いつ？ 毎年(まいとし)8月1日〜4日
たいこ（ドラム）をたたきながらおどるまつりです。
「せかいいちのたいこのかず」としてギネスにものっています。
あかちゃんからおとしよりまで、みんながさんさおどりをたのしみます。
In Morioka, Iwate, the Sansa Odori Festival features dancing with energetic drumming.
It’s listed in the Guinness World Records for the largest number of taiko drums played simultaneously.
Everyone, from babies to elderly, enjoys the Sansa dance.

意味： “Is it OK if I…?” / “Can I…?”
- いっしょにおどってもいいですか？

意味： 動作が今起きていることを表します。

Fukushima, Yamagata, and Morioka stations are about 2–3 hours by Shinkansen from Tokyo. Festival sites are within walking distance from the stations. - 持ち物 / What to bring
タオル、うちわ（または扇子）、帽子、飲み物、スマホ充電器を持って行くと良いです。暑さ対策をしましょう。
